A Bit About Me
Shawna Kelly obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Adult Nurse Practitioner degrees from the Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing at the University of Toronto. She also holds a Bachelor of Physical Education from Brock University. Most recently, she completed her Certificate Course in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (C-QuIPS) at the University of Toronto. Shawna works at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in the area of Headache Neurology. She has been managing acute and chronic headache disorders for the last 7 years including working with collaboratively with primary care in the Seamless Care Optimizing the Patient Experience (SCOPE) program. Shawna also works part-time as a Professor of Nursing at Seneca Polytechnic. Academically, Shawna is passionate about quality improvement initiatives and patient and provider education. Clinically, she is interested in managing headache disorders in the elderly, TAC disorders, and headache in pregnancy. Shawna is a member of the Canadian and American Headache Societies and also delivers education nationally on topics of migraine diagnosis and treatment.
