A Bit About Me

Orit Zamir is a psychiatrist with Women’s College Hospital and is a consultant for the Centre for Headache. Her work with the psychiatry department includes a variety of roles with a special interest in psychosomatics, psychotherapy and quality improvement projects to optimize patient care related to headaches and somatic conditions. Dr. Zamir also works at Mount Sinai Hospital with the Wasser Pain Clinic and is on the expert Hub team for Project ECHO Ontario Pain. She is part of several academic pain related committees at the local and national level. She has completed several trainings in psychotherapy and utilizes these approaches in her work related to headache, chronic pain and psychosomatics. She is an Assistant Professor with the University of Toronto and regularly lectures on pain related topics to clinicians as well as pain, psychiatry and dentistry residents.
